So, I finally got in the Hobie game.

I've kayaked a bit before with borrowed boats, and I've fished since I was 8; so this was inevitable. Hopefully my nights will get better now that I've jumped in, rather than just sleeping next to the Hobie Product catalog. Thank you D-Rock and the Kayak Shed for enabling the addiction. Great team of people they have - I suggest anyone to stop by and say hi.

A little about me:
I'm originally from all over the western US. Moved to Oregon six years ago from Utah where I lived a couple blocks away from the Provo river. I was a die-hard fly fisherman and was out 3-5 times a week. Naturally I thought I would "slay" them out here with my trout knowledge... ha ha ha... big belly laugh. After two years of nada - other than Deschutes salmon-fly awesomeness - I switched to being a gear fisherman. I've had good years and bad years. As a bank fisherman with little time other than early Saturday mornings - I've been able to live with that. My neighbor has a fancy NorthRiver PB that he takes me out in now and then, but the most we've caught together is a 30lb Carp out of the Columbia. I also have a tiny puddle at the end of the street that I take my little boys to once a week to catch 6" cutthroats - those little things make me grin with how stupid they are.

FYI I enjoy anything that involves fishing (tying flies, building rods, lures, crabbing, clamming etc) and am in awe of all the projects going on. INSAYN has some sweet posts that have claimed much of my time that should have been spent elsewhere - thank you for the inspiration

I look forward to meeting some of you out on the water and am always willing to meet up. Trying to make it to the ORC, but it doesn't look good.

My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

 Ryan,
It's all about priorities.......We welcome you to come on out if you can make it happen.....
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Actually picked up a pair of Revo 13s. My friend is going to be buying one from me. We had to work it that way so
1) he could afford it. (funny though - he makes more than I do)
2) his wife will most likely not notice the total amount if he pays it back in separate amounts  >:D

But for now, I've got two of them. I feel like a king  ;D

One would think his wife would notice a sexy 13 foot piece of kayak engineering genius just hanging around the house..
Even for people who know nothing about kayaks can look at a Hobie and tell they aren't cheap!
