I wonder if you can do anything with the Nike Fuel Bands to figure it out.  ???

spent a lot of time looking at the Fuel Bands...couple of issues....not fully waterproof and "assumption" since it does not work for bicycling, most likely it would not work for kayaking.  (Especially Mirage Drive kayaking)

Ya, I started thinking the same thing after I posted. However, they do have the Nike + thing that links up with an iPod that could be of some use. FWIW
