Lake Washington and Lake Samamish are the closest places for me to fish, and I wanted to see if anyone else has experience fishing these waters and could offer any advice, or would be interested in going out...

Hi Gpope.  I just bought an outback from the kayak shed and have been fishing lake sammamish quite a bit.  you can't keep the kokes but they are fun to catch.  i just catch and release any way so this lake has been fun.  small dodger with a dick night seems to work well for me.  lots of ski boats and jet skis now with the weather change.  the fish seem to hang out around the weather buoy.  have fun

Rattlesnake Lake, out by North Bend, might be another possibility for you.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

Yeah I'm hoping I have to get sockeye gear too! Not holding my breath yet though...
MW, let me know how you do today. I went out for a little last night further north with no luck.

I fished yesterday morning from 5:30 to 10:30 am.  I spent the majority of the time trolling for cutts between coulon and the south tip of mercer island but couldn't get any to bite.  I marked quite a few fish but they were scattered and there was no bait around.  After I gave up the trout quest I caught a few perch on the outside edge of the weed beds but none of any size.  I threw some plastics on the docks and caught 5 smallmouth to 15 inches before I called it a day.

gpope,

Where are you fishing up north in the lake?

MW,
I put in at waverly beach park, but I left my ff battery at home so I was trolling blind. I think next time I gO out I want to find a spot closer to 520 to put in. Either that or gene Coulon. I will let you know if I get motivated to get up early to go!

Also, I found this link to a pdf that has a lot of great info on Cutthroat fishing in lake Washington. Thought it might be useful info to pass along!

I spent some time out there on Saturday and Sunday to test out my new ride.  Launched out of Coulon and paddled over to Mercer then across to the Seahawks facility.  I tried a wedding ring tipped with a worm and a dick nite with no luck.  I'll probably be out there on Sundays every chance I get.  I'm down for meeting up sometime if anybody is launching out of Coulon.

My schedule is a little crazy the next couple weeks, but Im hoping to get out there again soon. I launched out of gene Coulon a couple weeks ago with a buddy and I landed a couple nice cutts--16" and 18". They hit around the south end of Mercer island at about 60' in 90-120' water... They were the first fish I've caught out of lake Washington! We put a good 5 hours in though, so they were few and far between.
