Has anyone fished Neah Bay for Salmon in 2012 yet?  Heading there this weekend hoping to get the salmon skunk smell off the kayak.

yup...  was by there for the opener. I got a 3 chinook, lost a 2 chinook and released a wild one. Lots of small coho around though, if you time it right they surface all around you and nail them with buzz bombs.  Lots of seabass around too, good luck and watch the tides/currents!

Thanks.  Did you fish the drop off near the dump, get them right outside the bay or paddle out from Hobuck?

Just east of the bay is where I saw most of the action, I stayed where the water was cold and calm.

Thanks, I'll check that area out.  I've fished that east of the bay spot for salmon only once or twice about 5 years back with no luck. I've been shy about going back there.  Most the time I head out to the area SW of Tatoosh where it gets deeper for salmon, but it is never less than an 8 hour day in the boat.  And like you said, watch those tides and currents. Got caught out by the weather out there before and it is a very long afternoon back to the beach. Might be best to arrange a shuttle pick up in town with a camp buddy this weekend and round the cape, then I could hit both spots.

Was there last weekend, the action was hot for coho and good for Kings.  near shore for Kings and the rips off Wadah 125' plus depth for the coho, coho feeding on the surface whereever the birds are feeding.

Hit that area Sunday AM until noon with only one strike, then went in for lunch.  Seems the bite was off, nobody was landing a fish. It was a weird weather weekend, big swell and big currents out there. I'll hit it again in a couple of weeks.
