The seat pegs seem to pop out more and more often on my '11 outback...I don't know if they are wearing or I'm just squirming around more. Kind of annoying to re-install while on the water..especially if conditions are challenging. >:(  Anybody have a fix?    Is there an upgrade that works with the Hobie holes? Thanks y,all

Hobie has a an upgrade peg kit that will lock the pags in the holes. That is a bit annoying when they pop out on the water

Those are what came with mine.  Mine were slipping for awhile as well. Lightly, scuff them up along with the holes with some sand paper and tighten them really well.

Are you cranking them down enough? mine would slip occasionally if i didn't tighten them enough

Yea, i have a spendy aftermarket surf to summit seat and love it. My original seat was an '07 and not the most comfortable. the newer model hobie are much better. If you go with an aftermarket seat you would have to intall a couple pad eyes behind the seat for the clips.

Weird.. I thought those adjustable pegs were standard on the '11 Outbacks. Mine came with them when I bought it new.

Yeah, I'm crankin em...was thinking of pliers (but won't).  Does your seat stay put? How much is spendy?

My seat in the old  Sport I brought up there slipped real bad and tho I was haveing a good time fishing with Roy my Butt sure got sore. He told me about the aftermarket pegs, which ACK got to me before ORC, Worked great in the old style boat tho the gal at ACK told me to scuff the seat peg holes before I used them. I tighten em finger tight and they held good for all three days. Back on the skinny warm water, and trying to figure out what to do with a real nice Red IR Dry coat with hood. Way to Hot to wear something like that here. Any body need one?

I got mine slightly used and to be honest i can't recall how much i spent i think 100 bucks. but new for a real good seat expect to spent from 140-200 dollars. they have all kinds of adjustment for your needs. and no pegs to slip out. One the better upgrades i ahve done

The 2012 Hobies have a different seat peg set up. Is there a may to retrofit a 2012 seat to a pre-2012 boat?

What size is it Art? Younggun may be in the market for one.

Glad to see you are home - it sure was a kick to see you make it up here and outfishing the local pro's.

While installing and tightening, try pushing down on either side of the peg and pulling up on the split ring while turning it.

I took a small metal pick bent 90º and heavily vertically scored both seat peg holes, as well as the pegs themselves.  Now it doesn't take much pressure at all to get the pegs to lock into place easily with just hand tight.

Thanks for the input ,guys. I'm going to try the scuff ,scratch, score methods...sounds like that will do the trick. Anyone else have a seat upgrade they like? Ilike the Hobie seat, but gotta figure there are some comfy options out there. Thanks again, guys :)
