Has anyone tried these? Sounds like a good idea. Have to find some and try them out!

The other option is to just tie a knot.

That was my 1st reaction as well.  But, some of the greatest innovations have drawn immediate criticism because they challenged the status quo.  I'd love to see the breaking strength tested against actual knots.

I wonder if there would be any rubbing where the line enters the eye. I worry that a slight burr from clipping the wire at that point in manufacturing could be an issue.

Also, as the diameter of a line goes up the number of wraps around the shank goes down, I wonder if there are limits for what lines can be used for certain sized hooks.

It should be a stronger connection, but is that a solution looking for a problem?  ???
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

"Just tie a knot" Easy to say with your young eyes. Twenty years from now on a foggy morning at 0'dark thirty as you struggle to tip your headlamp at the right angle to use your bifocals, think back on that comment. Don't shake your head - you will get there. Of course, 20 years from now, you'll probably just insert your line and lure into slots on your smart gadget, and get them welded together.

Gotta agree with FG on that one.

Seems like an innovation akin to the tie down strap. A rope and good knot does just fine but the tie down is a quicker operation. Will be interesting to see how the strength compares

Looks to me like they'll be stronger.  I'd like to check some out, but it's rare that I'm in a situation that I'd use one.

Maybe on a stinger or live bait rig.

I haven't given Jack's Hooks a try yet, but I have used the Easy-2-Hook that's shown in the video.

They work, but they do have their limitations. I have pulled up nothing but leader when bait fishing. If you're fishing a place with a lot of small fish (sculpin) that like to munch on the bait for larger fish (sturgeon) they can loosen things up and you'll end up not fishing...

Generally, if the leader stays tight, these hooks can work out for you. But if there's too much slack introduced, you'll end up without.

Hah!  I rarely tie hooks the night before.  That's what the time on the water is for!

20 minutes after I turned 40 I needed reading glasses and 20 minutes after I turned 50 I needed stronger reading glasses.  Got a couple pairs of these: http://onos.com/index.php/bifocals-readers-sunglasses/carrabelle.html

So perhaps they are not for jigging, mooching, or casting, but more for trolling?

But what about when a fish is on the line, giving big old head shakes, and introducing slack?   ???

A lil slack can be dealt with. I haven't seen any problem casting with soft plastics and there are a couple pro bass guys that have been using these on the drop-shot. Makes it really easy for them to alter the height. I don't think the head shakes are going to cause a lost fish unless you have the tag cut short.
