Anyone have some time to organize a tourney in late September?  This one for a coastal bay Chinook fishery in WA.  I know it's a little short notice, but this one has the potential to be a lot of fun with some outstanding fishing too.  If no volunteer(s) step forward, I suppose this could just be a fish and chill sort of weekend.

I could definitely assist, but don't feel up to full organizer just quite yet.

If I wasn't getting set to take the Professional Engineer exam in October I'd volunteer to help out.  Might (like 50% chance at best) be able to make the trip, but there's no way I'll have time to help set it up.

Where are you figuring to have this competition?  Westport?

Also willing to assist, but closing on a house August 22, and getting married in Hawaii October 11.

Can you provide some more specs?  PM is fine.

If it's southern, I might be able to organize it. I'd require a couple of more local people to delegate particular responsibilities to though.

I suppose I should clarify the job responsibilities.

1) Coordinate with the local chamber of commerce.  Figure out the logistics on launch, camping, permits, etc.
2) Run the show during tourney weekend.
3) Keep track of waivers and  run the awards ceremony.

I'll work on soliciting prizes and the like.

This is the Grays Harbor fishery at the mouth of the Johns River.

We do have a contact at the Westport Chamber of Commerce that is the one that suggested this locale and can be very useful as the local point of contact.

Depending on when baby momma downloads (due Sep 4th) and if she has a C section or not, I'll be able to contribute. I cant commit to taking the reigns, but managing waivers and what not I can def take up.

Thanks Scott.  I just looped you in on an email with our contact at the Westpost Chamber of commerce.

Tentative dates are September 22-23.  We're talking about the the Grays Harbor king salmon fishery at the mouth of the John's River.  Camping at Twin Harbors State Park.  Give us a few days to get our ducks in order and hopefully finalize these plans.

I'd be willing to help, to far away for me to commit to the full organizing deal but I could definitely make a few calls and show for the competition.  Don't mind asking for sponsors either.  I know a few peeps down there and one bro of mine has a little surf camp he'd probably open up a little ways down the road from twin harbors.

But lets do one in my neck of the woods and I will sign up for the lead role in organizing, don't care if it's bottom fish in area 4 or salmon at Freswater Bay or Seiku, would enjoy it.

I'll PM you my ph #.

I can possibly make an appropriate trophy if that'd be okay.

Can throw in some "whackers" too.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
