"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

Betcha we have some equally as big hugging the bottom underneath Bonneville Dam. I have a friend who scuba'd the Dam as part on some government research project. He said some of the fish down there are ridiculous in size compared to what is being caught.

you wanna see fish like that ?? go shad fishing on the island's at Bonneville late may early and Early June..I've seen 12', 13' maybe even 14' plus fish swim by the banks cruising for shad supposedly they gave that time of year to bread..In fact once I had a stringer of shad ( probably 4 or 5 fish) tied to a boulder, it was hot out so I had the fish in the water to keep cool, I look down and see an oversizer probably 13' come up to my fish ( the sturgeon was almost out of water) it sucked up TWO shad at one time then proceed to pull the entire stringer PLUS the boulder int o the water..the boulder was large enough that I could not move it..IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

Granted these fish are gentle giants and don't attack people, if one were to swim up to me while scuba diving I would crap my wet suit.

I'm curious how peacefully that monster just rested there while they took photos, etc. When Wobbler and I tried to photo my little 66 incher he was completely uncooperative and sounded several times until we could roll him on his back. We never succeeded in getting a decent photo with a tape measure.

What am I missing?

Get to spots my little boat can't go.love those old black and white pic's strugeon and salmon. They get twice as big as these one. All tho it is fish of life time.
