Hit DB on 7/29 looking for a salmon. Trolled for miles on end, in over 200 fow probably saw one on the ff in 6 hours. Water is too warm,  I guess.  ???

Stopped to bottom fish on the way back in. Got the lings, but couldn't find any blacks. I went to the NE corner of the bay and found a mudder tire on a rim smacking the seawall. Dragging that back the last half mile to the ramp was a special treat.

Very little breeze and almost no swell kind of day, picked up a China (CPR), chilled in the caves, and saw some Humpbacks.

Nice seeing you again Yakidyak!

How'd you tow the tire?

Nice fish photo.

I tied it to my paddle leash. People up on the sea wall were probably saying "kayaking doesn't look very fun, look how hard that guy is paddling not really going anywhere."

I passed a couple of townies in a 14' putt putt, they were the only other boat trolling for chinook I saw. The two guys on board shrugged their shoulders and all three of us had dumb looks on our faces because we had no clue where the fish were.

Before those guys got out of ear shot, I heard "woo hoos" and "f$@k yeahs."

So there was one caught, but the checker said she didn't see any.

On a side note, the tuna fishing was red hot until last Tuesday. I guess some of the charters were coming in w/10 fish per person. They were in close too, 15-20 miles. Anybody that's interested should get moving, tuna generally become more skittish and harder to catch as the season progresses.
