I just bought a pompano 120  from west marine, Basically a tarpon 120 (made by same company) just with a west marine badge on it... I been catching bass and trout and yea its fun but I wanna catch something with some heft to it.. Maybe troll the sound for salmon or bottom-fish, fish a kayak friendly river for steelhead/salmon.... I guess I'm just looking for a partner to show me the ropes, and besides its funner (Safer) with a partner!

Thanks people

no bottom fishing in the sound, except starfish ratfish and flounder but they're no fun.. salmon is in but I can't help you much as its my first season and I've had minimal success. options are get lighter gear to make bass and trout more fun to catch, try your luck for salmon in the sound, or take advantage of the recently extended rockfish season on the coast. but I'd be happy to join you for the former two

The sound has been benign lately.  Look up mooching/jigging and gear up.  Trolling with an 8-10oz cannonball on a slido works too.  Even a cannonball on a spreader bar.  A Golden Gardens launch is easy, head north toward Meadow point.  All the salmon entering the Ballard Locks from the north go right past Meadow Point.
