So I went out to Chambers again last night and meet up with Ravdakot, WindandEmotion, and t_i_2_1 ....  There was by far the most boat traffic I have seen with at least 20 PB's out.  It seemed like a promising day because fish were rolling all over the place and the water was nice and calm.  Being my first King season here I still find it really cool seeing groups of them roll.  When we arrived we were jiggin in front of the bridge with the incoming tide, nothing.  As the day progressed people started moving toward the pier/dock and began packing in.  It was about 6:30 or so and Rav pulled up next to me as we began chatting.  All the mean while I was still jigging away and BAMMM, something on!!  At first I thought it was another Dog fish as there wasn't much action and just a few head shakes.  About 3/4 of the way up (from the 50 or so feet in which it hit) I started to wonder as it began pulling pretty nice.  When I got it up the first time Rav was like, "I bet its a dog head, wait.. That's a legit fish!! It looks like a keeper!!"  Well this is when he realized he was hooked an took off like a madman.  After two little line peeling runs I got him to the boat and reached back for my net, only to find it caught in the sabiki rigged pole I had in crate.. DAMN!!!  Luckily Rav was still close so he pedaled over and dropped me his net.  After another 2-3 little runs I finally netted him.  First keeper King was now in the boat bleeding like a stuck pig!!!  Needless to say,  the wife and I will be enjoying fresh filets tonight!!!

Way to go, Noob!  Persistence pays off.  At this rate we'll both be netting experts - within a couple years!

YESSSS!  Nice work.  What jig and weight were you using?

We may roll up to that area this weekend to fish with a buddy that lives in Tacoma.  Anybody want to meet up if we make it up?

We were all using green PW candle fish in the 4oz flavor. I'll be trolling off Solo Point Sun morn. Was out there this last Sun, and hooked a pig of a nookie. Unfortunately she came unbuttoned right after showing WindandEmotion and I what a big biatch she really was.

Was pretty sweet to see you net your first keeper! That was a funny fish. Was completely playing opossum until it practically smacked into your hull. Once I could see the flash of silver about 20' down, it became pretty obvious something memorable was about to happen. Congrats again!
