Hi everyone,

I'm new to the sport of kayak fishing, having just purchased an Ocean Kayak Trident 13.  I've done some kayaking offshore (Sunset Bay and Harris Beach SP), and I'm looking for someone who wouldn't mind me tagging along to get more exerience.

Thanks!

Welcome! We just got back from a week at Depoe Bay yesterday, would have loved to have you join us. In the next week or so, I'm sure someone will be hitting the salt. Keep an eye on the board, lots of end of summer action.

I was down in that neck-o-da-woods a month ago.  There are so many spots to fish down there it's unreal.  There are few members down there so hopefully you can meet up with them and they can take you out.

Are you planning to salmon fish any of the bays over there? I'll probably go to some of the bays in your area a few times in the next couple of months, primarily on weekdays. I'm just going into my second year and also use a T-13 or a T-11. Feel free to get in touch.

+1 on "Lucky to be on the coast."

Welcome to the site.  I'm sure you won't have any problem finding a fishing buddy where your at.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I'd like to first get comfortable with kayaking on the ocean before I do any fishing.  Any gear you'd recommend?  Sounds like it would be good to have a VHF radio.

I saw someone fishing from a kayak on Yaquina Bay a week or two ago.  Was that any of you guys?

Younggun & I are planning on going out from Depoe Bay tomorrow morning, probably around 7:00 -7:30am launch. You are welcome to join us. Will be in a red Ranger pickup sporting a yellow Hobie Oasis and white Hobie Revo. VHF is highly recommended when launching out of there because of the narrow channel.

I'll try to make it there on time.  If not, I'll try to catch up with you on the water.

Thanks!

Immersion gear, wet suit, dry suit, etc. Good PFD. Water, food, sunscreen, seasickness meds.
