I am curious as to the difference between these two fishing locations.  They are pretty much the same distances for me.  What do you think is better from a fishing stand point?

I'd suggest Westport for you. It's a lot closer to Shelton. And the fishin ain't too bad either.

If you want to go out there Labor Day weekend--I could probably meet up with you and give it a go.

Which day/s are you thinking about ?I'll be keeping an eye on the foecast myself.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

I am asking in general about the difference between the two. I was planning on going to NB over the next few days, then I was thinking of westport... But the wind looks ugly for Westport the next few days and I'm not sure how to read good weather for NB. Smh.

For NB conditions I look for NOAA forecast wind 15 knots or less (light to 10 knots is best), and swells less than 4 feet. These are pretty rare conditions, about 20 days per summer, and if they happen the fog moves in and you spend the entire day with the GPS. If conditions are marginal, for example: winds 20 kts, building to 25 and swells 6 with wind waves 1 to 2 feet, it's going to be very difficult fishing and your likely going to be pushed back to fishing inside the bay, or sitting on the beach.

Good luck, hope the weather cooperates this week.

PC gets lots of press web wise via the monkey see monkey do effect.  It has nice access and a semi protected launch but the fishing is really no better than many other locations up and down the coast.  If I were you I'd break out the charts and do some research to find a honey hole closer to home. Its not like you want to drive 4 hours one way every time you need a salt fix.

Hey rev, what type of fish are you hoping to target?  The PS and HC are begining to see some of our anadramous friends.
Kayak fishing?  I have no clue, but I'm doing it.
