I am a newbie to the kayak fishing world and i am interested in meeting up with someone to fish the shilshole / golden garden area in Seattle.  I work during the week but i could fish in the morning before work or in the late afternoon evening.

I have fished this area a couple of times but i haven't had much luck so i am keen to discuss technique, equipment etc.  What am i doing wrong :-)

Also i like the idea of fishing with someone else from a safety aspect as much as anything else.

Thanks

English.

I'm going to be out there tonight from about 4:30pm until sunset.  Dessert colored Pro Angler. I typically fish in front of Golden Gardens / Meadow Point out near the green bouy.  ~Brad

I ended up going this evening and fishing until after sunset.  The wind and waves calmed down to being completely calm.  Pedaled water from GG to half way to Carkeek. Marked no bait or fish.  Caught 4 shakers.  Fished hoochies and cookies n cream coho killer.  I swithched to my "luck of the " Irish Cream spoon and had a fish at 60 feet down near the green can.  Got him close to the yak but had the flasher up to far and he flipped and got off.  Looked to be a 7-9 lb fish. Nice sunset.

I may head out this evening, didn't make it out last night.

How fast were you trolling?  Do you us a downrigger?

I don't have one so i just tie on a 6 or 5 cannonball.
