Hi All,
I am thinking about getting into the kayak fishing game.  I am curious if there are kayak rental places along the Oregon coast from Lincoln City up Tillamook? I am interested in chasing salmon, steelhead, trout or .........
I kinda figure rentals will give me a true test on if I would like to pursue this sport before purchasing my 1st kayak.

Thanks in advanced,
Don

I'm not aware of any places that rent "fishing kayaks" but if you really want to give it a try I'd suggest hiring either Groundswell Kayak Fishing or Oregon Kayak Fishing. I believe that Oregon Kayak fishing only does weekends trips but you might call them to confirm. For a little bit more of what you kwould pay for a basic rental you'll get all the gear and safety equipment you need, plus the knowledge of the guide. Both Ron and Michael are great guys and I'm sure you'd have a great experience with either one. Good luck.

You can rent a kayak in Wheeler and fish the Nehalem.  I don't know if the have SOT's (lots of SINK's) they are right on the water and there will be fish around.  You can rent SOT's in Pacific City, at a new shop across from the market along the Nestucca on the north east side of town.  Shop is close to the water and there are salmon to be had there too.  Troll spinners or herring at either location.

Why the interest in this location?
Being you're in the valley I would think it more efficient to "test" nearer home.

But of course, what ever gets ya hooked!
