So I recently ripped out a handle from my trident.
I have never lifted the boat by the side handles with any load (on or in the yak).

the handle pulled thru the two rivets (I will upload a pic later) but the mesh is intact.
I called OK and they sent me a new handle kit...

fast forward one week. I was lifting my kayak onto my car when the second (original) side handle failed in the same manner.
I called OK back and they assured me that the weave on the new handles should address this issue. the rep explained that they know of this issue and the mesh used on 2011 kayaks was faulty. and the new mesh is more than able to hold the weight of the yak

Have any of you Prowler owners had issues with your handles, and if so, did the new ones fix the problem?
I would hate to install the new handles only to have them fail in 6 months and would really hate to drop the kayak on myself, my car or the ground if I can avoid it.

Yes, I had both handles tear off my old T15, though the second handle took a lil longer to break (first broke 2nd week I had it). I was much more abusive with the replacement handles than the original, and nary a problem.

I never had the rivets pull out though.

Mine ripped. I folded it over and gooped a piece of rubber backed press blanket and clamped it. Let it dry and ran some bolts through it. It won't come unbuttoned on that end again. You have to use pretty fat bolts to fill the existing rivet holes, I think they were 1/4".

My 2009 T13 had very weak nylon straps that tore through quickly.  OK sent me a new pair of a different design that held up great.

In 09 it seemed to be an issue they knew about.  I'm surprised it's still a problem.
