So a tennis buddy of mine has a four bedroom home in Manzanita and invited me to spend the weekend there. I'm brining the TI and plan to fish and crab in Nehalem. Anyone want to meet up there? I've heard the crab are crawlin' and the cutts are cuttin' the the salmon are slammin'...well, the report is only mediocre but you get the point.

My buddy's not a yakker but he'll get his first taste of it this weekend. Would be great to have a few others out there.

Here's the ODFW fishing report:

Fishing for cutthroat should be fair to good throughout the basin. There are chinook being caught in the lower bay up through the Wheeler area and in upper tidewater/lower river holes. A few hatchery coho should begin entering the bay also. Trolling herring near the bottom should produce the best in the lower bay. Bobber and bait is most productive further up in tidewater.

Boy, I wish I could join in the fun. We passed through on 101 on Labor Day weekend and I wanted to abandon all plans and stay in Wheeler ...

Cool, I'm planning on fishing and crabbing the estuary from the state park ramp. Plan to be on the water before noon Saturday or earlier if I go down Friday night. Sunday early.

Hope to see everyone at NA tonight!!

Please report your successes!  I will be there at the end of the month and would love to hear about where you went and how you did.

Remember, starting Sept 15th you can keep a wild Coho.  Good luck out there.
