Offshore fishery Management Survey

That surprised the hell out of me too.  I'd like to see it at 26". 

It was lowered down here in CA this year, from 24 to 22.  If you look at the stock assessments on the pcouncil.org site, you'll see that biomass is doing awesome.  Still, lowering the minimum to below the size where many lings haven't yet had a chance to spawn, just doesn't seem right.

Seems like increasing the minimum size and the bag limit would be better to me  :-D

I would hope not.  My vote would be to play the game with the cards available.

My vote is restrict commercial fishing and give the sport fisherman more fish to catch.

Cabies aren't exactly a major target fish by the commercials...
What do you do for a living? I am thinking of getting a bunch a friends together and vote that you should no longer have a job because my friends and I enjoy doing your job as a hobby.

I'm not sure. I know from experience you can't try to earn it. I guess a person just has to have a natural a$$hat propensity.

Oh wait, that's why fishermen, both commercial and sport, are losing the battle.  We're too busy bickering amongst ourselves to see that we're getting taken to the cleaners by Gang Green.
