If I drive over to PDX for the Bass tourney on the 6th, would any of you want to go fishing with me on the 7th? (Sunday)

It's a long way to only fish for one day.  What fishes should i be targeting this time of year over there?  What water?

Thanks!

Also, I'm looking for somebody to fish with on the 6th as well.

Justin,
While you're in town for the tournament here are some other events on October 6th that you (or anyone else really) might be interested in squeezing in ...

The Wedge  (a cheese festival with beer) at the Green Dragon 10 am - 4 pm.  The Green Dragon is an easy walk from Next Adventure.

The Portland Fresh Hop Tastival at Oaks Park
http://oregonbeer.org/freshhopsfest/  (near the bottom of the page)
12 pm - 8 pm
If you launch from the Sellwood Riverfront Park you'll be just a short walk away from the fresh hop beer tasting when you come off the water.

I think my plan is to fish in the morning, grab lunch and check out the cheese/beer thing at the Green Dragon until weigh in at Next Adventure.

As for Sunday, I'm sure someone will fish with you.  Personally, I'll be pretty luck to escape the family for all of Saturday to go fishing, trying for a Sunday too would be pushing it.

If you want to trek another 2 hours north, you can join us south sounders for our HOW event beating up on some chum salmon. We'll be in Shelton, WA

Speaking of this Sunday.. How many do we have going out?  Should be a great opportunity to test everyone's anchor trolley and if we need to make any adjustments prior to the HOW event.. I'm looking forward to a new type of salmon too!!

I think this thread is getting a bit jacked up.

I believe Justin is looking for fishing buddies on 10/7 in the PDX area the day after the Next Adventure - HOW Bass Tournament. I may be up for that on Sunday, Justin.

Well hell, I'm not sure that I'll be heading over now :(

I don't want to drive over on Friday and fuel cost is a little high right now.  A weekend will cost me at least $300 for the trip.

OH well.  I'll need to plan a trip over there soon though.  I just wish there was good (safe) camping in that area.

Not trying to be a smart*** but where were you referring to camping and what is not safe about it? I'm new to the area and learning. Thanks

I think he means in the Portland Metro Area.  As for the rest of the state, every state park I have stayed at has been awesome.
