Been lurking here for way too long, thought I'd finally post an introduction...  I'm Sam, and just started kayak fishing this summer.  Had a great time with my kids joining Nate and Jake from Next Adventure when they hosted a free family kayak fishing class back in June.  We picked up a Hobie Oasis shortly after!

In addition to the Oasis, we also have a couple smaller sit in kayaks that work great for the kids.  Since acquiring the kayaks, we've been trout fishing with them at Olallie and Trillium lakes, and bass fishing at Collard Lake (near Florence) and on the Willamette here at George Rogers Park.  I've found the Oasis to be great for trolling - hands free, down low on the water, and very comfortable!!

So far, having a great time fishing the smaller stuff, but looking forward to learning more about Salmon and Sturgeon fishing.  The salmon talk a couple weeks ago at NA was great - just a matter of buying new, bigger gear - probably going to take some time...

My kids and I are looking forward to the bass classic next weekend!

Finally, want to thank everybody for all of the great information sharing on this site.  Looks like a wonderful group of regulars, and many other contributors!

Welcome aboard Sam! I'm planning to bring my 10 year old grandson to the Bass Tourney, maybe we can fish in the same area.
