Hey Guys

Hey all,

I've been mostly lurking for about a month and wanted to say hello.   I met a few of you guys at Spot's recent salmon seminar and several of you provided me great info when I posted questions about tandem kayaks recently.  Well this weekend I finally picked up a Hobie Oasis (thanks Dave and Jake at NA) and I'm hoping to get more active around here.

Now the intro:  I grew up in Oregon, now live in Sherwood.  I grew up fishing for trout & steelhead with the occasional salmon trip.  I spent a few years almost exclusively fly fishing but now I do a bit of everything.   I got interested in kayak fishing because my 7 year old son really enjoys crabbing and fishing so I picked up a tandem so I could get him out on the water more often.   My primary interests right now are dropping crab pots and trolling for salmon, although I will work in some trout and bass trips along the way.   Eventually, I'm sure I'll try some ocean excursions as my parents live in Depoe Bay and we often take our RV to Pacific City.

Anyway, thanks for the great advice you've already provided, I hope to meet more of you guys over time.

Arrrr!  I wanted that kayak! I have a 7 year-old son I wanted to get out as well.  But, now you crushed that dream . J/K.  Congrats on the new yak and welcome to the forum.

Ha ha, thanks Craig.  Good news is that I'm pretty sure NA had a few more on hand, multiple colors available..

Welcome BK!  Take advantage of the nice weather and your location.  Coho and sturgeon are real close by for you.
Post some pics of your son's success.  I love watching kids score from a kayak!
