Hello World

I came across this place looking for info on how to fish from a kayak.  I recently acquired a fishing  kayak and am interested in learning how it is done.  I grew up fishing with my father around the Willamette Valley, but now that I am in Vancouver, WA. I am not sure where to start. I look forward to hopefully meeting a few of you and having a good time on the water.

I got a Field and Stream Eagle Run 12. Funny story on how I got it. I was trading some unwanted items and got a 2nd Xbox 360. My wife says "I dare you to trade the xbox for a kayak". So I did. She didn't think I could trade a sit on your butt watch t.v. item for a get out and exercise item. It just happened to be a fishing kayak. Now I do like to fish so it turned out pretty well.

Cool story! So what's going to be your first fish?

Welcome !!   I have the same kayak in a different color,  what I call "The Worlds Slowest Floating Ferrari Red"    Also I will let you in on a great little secret you won't want to let your wife know about  ....  with a kayak,  you still get to sit on your butt all day and it's like your watching the Outdoor Channel in the highest definition 3D possible !!!

More than likely it will be trout, bass, or kokanee in the local lakes. Maybe next year I will be brave enough for salmon, steel head, or sturgeon.
