He's also half your mass, which means more speed due to less drag. at my mass, we'd be using a calendar to time it.....  ;D

Awesome pics. Awesome boat. I'm wondering how easy to transport the pa 12 is... The pa 14 was the boat I wanted but I had to settle on the outback for that reason. Is the outback comparable to the pa as far as transportation?
Just curious... And always looking to upgrade

It's a bit bigger than the outback.  And by that I mean fatter.  I don't have a hard time getting it on my scion, or even my F150.  I daresay it's even easier than the OB because the hull is basically flat on the bottom.  Instead of using saddles I use bar pads (pool noodles do in a pinch).  Just lift the bow onto the rear rack, move back to the stern and push it up on top of the vehicle.  Easy.  the PA has awesome handles for gripping the bow and the stern.

I've been in FL and spending alot of time on my PA12 here.  The more I use it, the more I am annoyed by the tracking issue.  I really think this is a big problem.  The boast simply hates traveling in straight lines.  I didn't see an existing thread on the hobie forums so I created a new one.  A few others are complaining about the issue as well.  There are some posts by a hobie rep (Matt Miller) but his answer is just kinda "that's just the way it is".  I'm disappointed.  Don't get me wrong, I still love the boat...but I just think it has more specific applications than what I want to use it for.  And perhaps that's more my fault than the designers of the boat.

here's the thread

Keep in mind that zig-zag trolling is more conducive to fish strikes and it helps to avoid being torpedoed....seems to me this is a good Hobie design feature  :banjo:

I'm totally with you Rory.  The more I use mine the more I REALLY don't like the steering.  I am tired of the horrible tracking and the spinouts.  I'm going to make a bigger rudder and see if that helps but if it doesnt it might not last the summer.
