Iceman--Welcome to the forum. Sooke is my home fishing grounds and I would be glad to wet a line with you and your dad if you do make a stop here. Late August is the primo time of year for fishing Sooke. There are 3 or 4 locations in the area that are good access for a kayak and close to the fishing grounds. Whiffen Spit, Otter Point and Muir Creek are the 3 I have in mind, with the latter 2 being a few klicks drive west of Sooke. Check out British Columbia and then South Island report on the BC threads on this site and there is some more detail there. PM me if you have any questions or when it gets closer to summer.

Iceman, these guys helped me a whole lot with my trip to Or last summer. I'm sure you'll meet a lot of them and you will enjoy the fishing. I know I'm hoping to get back up thereto fish with these great folks again, Art
