Last summer I thought it would be awesome to try out the new Talon mount for my Hobie Outback.  Not a good idea.  Not only does this sucker leak, no matter how much you goop it, it causes lots of corrosion on my FF connectors even with dielectric grease and a good washdown after each use.  So, I'm going to switch to the sail mount for my FF.

Question one:  Is there an accessory that i could put in the place of the Talon mount that will work without too much hassle?

Or:  What the hell do I fill the hole with?  I did save the plastic when I cut the hole with a hole saw.

Wow,  Is it Possable to see a picture of what your dealing with? it may help to give you a few ideas of how to deal with it, .I got a bunch of Flack the last time I told someone I used a HOT Glue gun to Seal A hole, But all Hot glue Is melted Plastic.. Not Only Did it Seal my old Kayak But it Has Lasted 13 years, Silicone and other sealers Don't stick to Plastic long term That's why they come in plastic tubes Epoxy All so No good on Plastic. Also Depending on the Size of the hole you can look at a few heavy plastic buckets and cut a patch /plug size to back up the area's, Sure You Could take and have A pro patch done if you want to, but If your Just wanting to seal it so No more leaks.Give it a try.FYI the Hot glue burns and Sticks to skin.Your best thing is to do this INSIDE so the kayak is not Freezing cold when you seal it.

Can you Please stop Capitalizing words in the Middle of Your sentence? My mildly dyslexic brain is working hard as it is .... your posts send it into a stuttering tailspin that usually ends in a "F*ck it" as I move on to a new thread.

Sometimes I'm too blunt ... I would like to read all the posts on NWKA and I find myself skipping your because of the punctuation. If you could double check your posts for proper punctuation it would make a huge difference. Thanks

Speak for yourself. I was born and raised in Charleston, SC - pretty much as south as it gets, being as that's where the civil war started and what not.  I manage decent punctuation and spelling.

Maybe he just has fat thumbs (bad for phone typing).

I'd love to post a pic, but my yak is covered with snow at the moment.

KG, I second the throw a pic with some measure of scale up. My guess is you will probably have to weld a piece of polyethylene over it, but can give better advice if we see it.

I think there is a video on this site that shows somebody patching a crack in a hobie.  They used a little plastic welder.

How big is the hole?
