FYI, if you send it in with mud, fish blood, etc., there is a $25 cleaning fee.

I send in my dry suit(s) once a year to have them properly serviced.  Just got this from Jordan at Kokatat:

"We have finished the repairs to the older Pacific colored suit you sent in. We found some pin leaks and abrasions throughout the suit that needed to be patched. The charge for doing this work is $20 plus shipping. While inspecting the Mango/Black colored suit we found a warranty problem occurring with the fabric. We found portions of the fabric to be delaminating. Because of this we’d like to replace the suit under warranty at no charge to you with a brand new suit identical to what was sent in. Once we receive payment for the repairs to your other suit I’ll place the order for the new garment and get the new and repaired suits sent back together. Let me know if you have any questions."

Stuff like this really engenders customer loyalty.  Making quality suits helps too!  No they aren't paying me to post this, I'm just a huge fan.

Just had the same thing happen to me today.. Sent two suits before the holidays. Just got off the phone and they are going to replace one under warranty (even let me change sizes) and fix the other at no charge.  Totally Awesome!

Do they recharge the DWR on garments when you send them in for service?

I noticed nobody answered this, and I am curious about that as well, so figured I'd bring it up again.

I refresh it with that Nikwax treatment (TechWash + Wax/softshell proof).  Works great for a couple of weeks, then so-so for a few more weeks, then back thru the cycle.  I've never sent mine in, but I'm having the de-lam issue with small panels down the arm, so one day I'll have to part with it and send it back for service.  Just not during the winter months, I couldn't live without it.

Any guess on what a latex neck seal replacement will cost?

I'd suggest anyone with specific questions just take the time to make a quick call to Kokatat.  The gal that answers the phone is super nice as is anyone she will put you in touch with.

That is what they did with mine too.  Pretty cool that they stand behind their product so well.

I just got my replacement suit from Kokatat.  This thing is REALLY nice.  They sent me the brand new Hydrus 3L.  The zipper is nicer, the neck and wrists are easier to get into, and the feet are a thicker material.  It was already a good suit design, and they made it even better.  Oh and they recommend the McNett stuff for care of it.

I sent mine in last week.  I haven't heard from them so I suppose I will get the same stinky suit back. I am glad because I love it.

I actually had a dream last night that I got mine back and a bunch of us were meeting up at PC.  When I put on my suit, I noticed that Kokatat fixed all the pin holes with gaffer's tape. I was a little pissed. I guess that's what I get for eating chili so close to bed time...weird dreams.

I sent my dry-top back this week too.  They must luv us over there.  Haven't had any weird dreams about it yet  ;D.  Same issue, the light-weight gore-tex side panels ripped along the seams, but the other panels of heavy gore-tex have held up great.

Thanks for the tip.  Staying clear of chili before bed.

In the instructions I got back, they recommend using an iron to refresh the s water beading effect.
