Went out with Trout Slayer yesterday afternoon to a little gem of a lake. Caught a few trout, had to keep one that got hooked in the gills a bit, far from a record, but at least tasty!

Here's my rig:

Working on getting my brother to weld up a rack/mounting system on my camper so I can attach the kayak in a FAR better way. But for now I was pleased to see that this works!

Hello!

This may be a good place to get my feet wet.  I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now and figured that it's time to sign up.  I live in Marysville around exit 200 off of I-5.  Last year my family and I purchased an Ocean Kayak Malibu Two XL Angler and we have had a great time using it recreationally.  My son and I are working on setting it up so that we can fish.  I've found some great ideas that came from this site and others on keeping it family friendly and fish deadly at the same time.  Unfortunately all that I can do right now is daydream and plan my setup.  I'm in the US Coast Guard and currently away from home port through the end of September.  Being new to fishing in the area it would be great to hook up with some fellow kayakers for guidance and fishing experience.  My internet connectivity while at sea is sketchy underway but I'll be following along.

Well, not long after that post, my dad was diagnosed with cancer and my life changed directions.  I was also reassigned to TRACEN Yorktown, VA.  and I believed for awhile that I was going to have to live as a geographical bachelor for a year or so until I could sell my house and my son could finish up high school.  Things were looking pretty grim.  My dad is now making a full recovery.  I asked the CG assignment officer to keep me in mind for any job openings in the Seattle area so that I could live with my family.  Luckily for me a job has opened up in Everett and I will be reporting there August 1st.  Win win situation for me.  So...back to fishing.  Please keep me in mind for any future meetups.  I've been rigging my yak and have been doing some lake fishing around the Marysville/North Seattle area.  Went shrimping with friends on the shrimping days, my first experience was a blast.  5 of us total five limits.  I'm still eating shrimp.  I haven't ventured out into the sound yet with the yak and wanted to wait and go with more experienced paddlers.

New to the forum, great site!

I've had my OK Trident 15 for a year now, and finally got out on the sound for some salmon last weekend. Caught my limit off of Redondo in just over an hour and had a BLAST! Can't wait to get out again!

Checkin in from Arlington....just bought a house further out now in Oso.  And recently I picked up an Emotion Mojo angler which I haven't even had the chance to maiden; but I've spent countless hours paddling a Mad River 14 foot canoe while in search of fish......one of these days when I'm done with my 64 hour work weeks, I'll get to actually maiden my new craft...and my dang fishin license I also haven't used yet.  Oh well, gotta pay to play.

Dang this is an old post, lol.

Snoqualmie Pass here, Been kayak fishing for about 10+ yrs mostly mountain lakes and east and west side rivers. Spend a lot of time yak fishing in the Gulf in SW florida. But can't belive that I just found this site a few weeks ago as I was Getting ready to head to the warm gulf. Lost of info and sounds like great people on this site, ever looking to fish some mountain lakes hit me up and I can show you around.

No oil rigs, but lots of man made reefs about 2 miles offshore, with lots of differet species that lurk around. It's a toss up on what you are going to catch, but only about 90 ft of water.
Thanks John
