Third marker from the bottom on my screen.  Fairly steep gravel driveway down to beach.

I've decided my contribution to the prize list will be a single speed avet SX reel.

Upudated the prize list to include contribution by Kenai_guy and Akfishing!

Hmmm....this is getting serious fairly fast!

Count me in.  I should be there the evening of the 17th and camping over night.  I'd like to bring my dog.....is this a problem (have truck w/ topper to keep him in while fishing)?

Check out this thread from 2011 . It has a lot of information about the area, the fishing, accomodations, and more. Rudy put a lot of time and effort (as usual) into get there and making it happen.
Sorry there aren't better directions for the turn off at Whiskey Gulch. Just pay attention when you get close and you will see the sign for the turn off.
This is sounding better and better.............
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Argh! I fly out to Adak Sunday with one flight back on Thursday. Means about a 25% chance I won't make it.

But fear not! The fun will continue!!

To further motivate.

First place is an acrylic trophy and this (box is wrong, it's not a MC cast model...sorry):

Thanks to Kenai Guy, I'm thinking the prize for biggest halibut will be:

Get psyched!

Looks like Whiskey Gulch is at MP154 Sterling Hwy.  I found this on ADFG's website under Cook Inlet Clam Fishery.

http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=PersonalUsebyAreaSouthcentralcookinletclams.maps

It's not fishing, but there is a decent map of the area and its relation to other access points.
