I had a similar interaction with the guys at the Tigard store "You must be a kayaker!" he said "Indeed, how did you know?" I replied. "Because all of your buddies have been in here picking them up too"

He also said that apparently the cost to ship them was higher than what they made on the buoy's themselves, not to mention the actual cost of goods sold... So it's cool they fulfilled as many orders as they could.

Picked mine up yesterday too and had a similar interaction. Just an FYI, if you sent your order to the Hayden Island location and haven't received a call from them, call them now. They didn't call me and likely had my stuff for several days.

I must be the only step child order they canceled??? Perhaps I'm the only "out of towner" and didn't have them ship to store. Makes sense they would cancel mine. On the other hand I just spent a buttload of money with them recently on other things. In fact I just got an email from them to write a review of those items. Admittedly its rather petty of me, but its kind of hard for me to do that now over these stupid $2.38 dollar bouys. :pottytrain2:

He did say that they did have to cancel some of them since they didn't have enough stock at all the stores. I guess they have a "store to store" program where they utilize other stores inventory to backfill online orders and he said that store inventory is generally off so it can affect the "Master inventory" for the whole system. Also working in IT I know that sometimes things like inventory management are batched processes that get updated hourly or even daily in some cases, so it's possible they were out of stock before the website said they were... Either way it sucks for you for sure!

On the other hand, I spent 20 minutes in their store browsing water shoes, jackets, and various gadgets. So they got some value out of the thing as a promotion, if nothing else.

I wish I'd taken pictures of the duct tape solution I used to inflate mine.

Tigard has extras. My order accidentally went through twice so they have an extra 5 they're going to add to inventory. Also my order was there but they never called.

Can you describe?

I would have loved to see how duct tape was used to put air into an air valve.   :icon_scratch:

I just put my air compressor air nozzle up to the valve for a few seconds, done.

The only inflation device I could find around the house was an emergency bicycle tire pump. On it's own it does nothing to create a seal on the inflation port.  I tried the football/basketball needle hoping the anti backflow valve would seal around it.  No go.
Time for Duct Tape!!!  I simply made a cone around the needle, thick enough to screw in to the slot and then started pumping.  BTW it takes roughly 225 pumps to inflate an A0 buoy.

Mark, did you try oral inflation first? >:D Isn't that's why our fish are so much large 3 weeks later, after we inflate them orally every time we tell the same story.

Another trick is to hold it up to your car's (cold) tail pipe.

You'll need to have someone rev the engine just enough to get the pressure up to start the inflation process.

I'll use my air compressor  ;)
Would you get more buoyancy if you used a helium tank ???
