Very nice Jason, I was hoping to bestow the asshat, but I guess that can wait a week or two.

BTW, for those interested I was talking to Jason the other day at Alder Creek and he's putting together some classes geared towards the kayak angler.  He even talked about some more advanced classes (surf class, river class) for those who need a challenge.  I'm sure either Jason or I will post more information once the syllabus is finalized and the schedule is out.

I thought that shot at the bottom of the post would have been so perfect if I had a sombrero on.

I'm sure I'll put my foot in my mouth soon enough 8)

Jason, would love to see a video of you doing a single stroke, 180 degree turn on a T15.   ;)

yes. you mean on the 180 right?

I didn't quite make it all the way to 180 on that take.

I made the mistake of appointing a buddy to work the camera, an that's all i got of the bow rudder.

I did make it around a few times, but the low brace inside turn is much easier with the wide boat.

I'm kidding, I read that on the blog and that was a good demo. Nice reboarding demo too.

Yeah, he was close enough for a "gimme".  I'm sure he could get the 180.  I'm still waiting to see one from a standstill.  Or rather, how many strokes to pull a 180 from a standstill.

I don't know why I didn't film that. I played with the 180 from a stand still. I can do it in two - three strokes.

basically have to edge it so far over you are lowbrace/sweeping, and the odds of dumping are high!

I had a hard time with the secondary point of stability on the prowler. I never felt a clear indication of where it was, and so I struggled holding a hard edge on that thing.

The more I play with it though, the better I'll get to know it, and things will get easier.

yeah. I'd love to have a cobra expedition for those long paddles and strong currents, the OK trident for shorter trips or floating downriver, and, a scupper pro for the surf.

FYI I also need a Tide Race Excite, Tide Race Explore, Valley Nordkapp LV, Valley Avocet, a NDK Romany, another NDK Explorer (for the GF), a P&H Cetus, and a drift boat.

And a Liquid Logic Remix 69, and a Jeffe....and a couple Redfish Kayaks, A Valley Surf Kayak, a wave ski...and what the hell how bout a canoe too!

I think that's all I need, but give me a day or two and I'll figure out a reason I need another boat.

FYI-

I pinched a nerve in my back and pulled a muscle in my hip rolling the trident. I don't think I will do that anymore. If I can keep from talking smack, I shouldn't have a problem!

oy mate, sorry, was a very bad attempt at levity. your not understanding is my fault for posting that when i'm too bloody tired to think straight.

my reference to P&H and tonnage was premised on your knowing that the major heavy lift crane maker in the U.S. is Pearson [ Parsons?] & Harneshfegger, aka P&H. some of thier largest cranes are actually given names, like ships are. the larger capacity, the more famous the name.

you'd listed a yak maker as P&H and that tripped my failed attempt at humor.

again, sorry it didnt come thru.
