"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."
--Edward Abbey--

I think there are people in the Midwest who'd give up an arm for an 'eye like that!  :o

Man, these are some epic fish! I'll let this run through tomorrow before choosing a winner (give it a full week to make sure everybody gets a chance to throw their photo in). Thanks to everyone who's contributed so far!

Alright, I'm calling this competition closed. Full disclosure, I'm a terrible judge at fish competitions unless there's a scale to make the decision for me. I used to fish for carp for fun, so yeah, I'm impressed by pretty much anything.
The winner is.. drruuuummmm rolllllllll...
bubbagrump ! I pretty specifically remember struggling to reel in a five foot shark in the Atlantic from a 25' boat when I was 13 years old. I handed the rod off to my cousin because I couldn't handle it. Needless to say, that makes me doubly impressed by a 13 year old reeling in a sturgeon that probably weighed twice as much as the shark I struggled with. Shoot me a PM to claim your e-Gift card bubba!
To the rest of you, thank you for sharing your fantastic catches with the group. If you've got more, let's see 'em anyway! Let's give our friends on lockdown something to drool at and motivate them to get back out ASAP!

Well deserved bubbagump! That's a helluva fish for anyone to tangle with from a kayak, let alone a 13 year old!
