I've booked a Forest Service cabin on Cochrane Bay for four nights from August 15 (Thursday) until August 19 (Monday).  Dave and I will be arranging the water taxi out of Whittier for those dates (estimated RT for the group is $700). If any of you is interested in joining us, let me know. Pretty much, if you show up at the dock with your kayak and gear and share in the taxi cost -- it's a go so long as there's room.

Keep the dates in mind, guys. You know those Forest Service cabins -- claim to sleep 6, but most comfortable with 4.  Always nice to get in out of the weather and have someplace to dry things out.

Sounds like a great trip.  I'm set for an albacore charter that weekend myself.  Slay 'em!

Man that should be a good time!

I'll chart out how many miles out that is and maybe cruise out for a visit with the AI.

oooooo......sounds like fun!

Looks to be about 18 miles one way if its the cabin by Paulson bay.  Definitely have some interest.  Being able to fish unencumbered out that way was a blast!  I've had fun and have had great catches to show in Blackstone and Cochrane but I always had to fish DEEP...250 to 500 ft to catch good sized rockfish.  Silvers should be fairly active too.

I will definitely consider it!!!!!!!!!

The Bathymetry looks great in that area.

No you don't peddle or no you aren't coming??    C'mon man. All of us novices here in Alaska need the Spot and polepole types to cone teach us rookies how its done!!!!!!

Hey Allen, what ballpark monetary pain are we talking about for your April Central America? I have no doubt the monetary pain would be dwarfed by the killer fishing!!!

Threadjack to the 10th degree!!!

For those that don't know what kard is talking about, I'm off to Panama in April to do a story for Kayak Fishing Magazine.  Trip cost is right around $2K plus flights.
