I just got my dry suit and I feel like it may be a little too baggy. I went with the XL to leave room for layers. Honestly I think I'll never be cold. I'm wearing jeans and a T shirt underneath and I'm hot as all balls. I'd like to hear someone else's opinion. Is it too big??

Looks good.

I think you will like it especially on the cool days. Mine fits me like that and I can wear a NWKA hoodie under it with t-shirt and still feel free to move. If I get to hot I will take off the hoddie. But here on the north coast it does not get to hot most of the time.

Sweet...thanks for checking it out. I guess I thought I would look more like a super hero when I put this thing on haha. I can deal with it not being very flattering to the physique  :D

I know this guy, he's not able to defend himself right now, so I'll leave his name out of this.

I recall one warm spring day arriving at American Lake to fish for perch.  It was nice out and we decided we didn't need anything other than our street clothes under our drysuits.

Shortly after getting on the water, the clouds came in and the temp dropped to 50 degrees.  Still, that's not cold, but I started to get chilled and decided to stop trying for perch and troll for trout to stay warm.

About an hour later I checked in on my buddy.  He opened his mouth to talk, but no words came out, just unintelligible slur.  He had also lost some dexterity in his hands and was generally weak.  He couldn't even grasp fishing line to hook his line to his pole.  Fortunately he was able to start paddling and warm himself up.

I've also been steelheading when it was so cold that splashing water on my coosa turned to ice within seconds.

Never underestimate the cold.

Wow, that is crazy! I feel like I run abnormally hot though. When I was 19 I worked for this landscape company...We won this bid on a Scotch Broom project at a Salem Walmart. It never got warmer than 13 degrees and I still felt hot in just a Tee and jeans. Granted I was doing manual labor...fishing from the kayak is less strenuous.
I trust the opinions and advice of the people here. I'm happy with the suit. I'm stretching the gaskets as we speak. Any tips for burping the air out so I don't look like I'm in one of those sumo suits?

Cotton is a horrible base layer! I wear a light wool base layer and have a heavy dry suit. The only time I'm cold is sitting on anchor in good weather. It also works great during the summer as it wicks sweat very well.

Looks about right, but you probably could have gone with a L if you wanted to.  How tall and heavy are you? I wear L in the same suit and also have an XL Palm and they both feel about the same. I don't think the extra room hurts anything. I always wear a couple of layers and a thick fleece, even during warm days on the ocean.

This is the Kokatat Supernova angler suit. I realize that cotton isn't the best choice. I literally came home from work, opened the box and climbed into this thing. I'm impressed with the material. I was relieved that it is so thin yet feels so durable.

I'm 5'9ish and 227. That is another thing...I'm dropping weight since I started this diet/exercise thing. I'm down over twenty pounds. Kayak academy said if I drop a lot more weight I could trade it in toward a smaller size if needed.

Yeah just fish in it and go from there. I'm 6'1" and the large is tall enough for me, but at your current size the L might not give you enough width.

No worries about the test fit .... but know that cotton should never be worn as a base layer.... period.
