Well Im pretty fired up to head out this next weekend. I spent this weekend prepping since the weather was not gonna let me out this weekend. I plan on my usual whiskey gulch spot. Im really going to try and head out thursday for a 3-4 day trip. 2 things that might hold me up 1. Weather of course, 2. My new Adventure Island might be delivered by then!

Man that's pretty awesome.  I'm screwed for a couple weeks.  Work this coming weekend.

Yeah I know your busy. Kenai guy must be in Kathmandu working. Maybe I can meet up with akfishergal or the new guy! I called the guy I met last year down there and I think he will show up. He says his kayak isn't ready though but will be there in his drift boat. Rudy is on the injury list I think

I am looking to be out there.  I have the kids and we hopefully will be setting up Michele's new Outback.

My injury is literally just a minor flesh wound I hope.  Only three stiches.  It was just deeper than it was wide and I couldn't remember my tetanus shots.

What did you do with your outback Matt?

An honorable scar. Ouch. A little saltwater will clear that right up. ;)

I still have the outback. I don't think I'll get rid of it. At least not anytime soon. The outback will be nice to have as a loaner, a back up or for places where I  won't want to deal with the size of the adventure.

Nearly there. Visibility zero due to fog and rain

Suddenly those broad-brimmed hats the guys down south wear don't seem so, ummmm, stylish after all. Go get 'em Matt.

Update: I haven't done much fishing. About a couple hours maybe soaking bait for halibut. Wind is cold and stiff, but the rain is gone. Hopefully Saturday is good. It's just pretty dang wintery down here!

A local came down today and said his neighbor caught a couple kings out here early this morning. There has been a few boats out here so that's a good sign that fish might be around.

Looks like the snow is lightening up outside here. Hope it is bypassing Lower Cook Inlet for Matt's sake. Seriously, what happened to spring? We're in our 9th consecutive month of measurable snowfall now.  Grrrrrrr.

Well things are thawing. Unfortunately that means rock encounters on the highway. Went to long lake past Palmer, found one, got a flat. Highly unlikely I will make trip south. At one time there were three vehicles parked at long lake that sustained damage on one stretch we could see. A plow was driving by once every few hours and there were still big rocks on the road when I drove home.

Short vid of what we were doing.
