I'm sure they will compensate you fairly when you ask.  I know that the owner likes to be on site while we're there because we always have good food, good beer and good attitudes.

-Spot-
Ya, everything is fine with me and I've heard nothing but good things from others. I just thought it was a little odd.

Regardless, I'm going to have a great time. One question though, do most people spend Saturday night in the campground as well, or just head back after the awards ceremony?

Depends on how many people there are to split the Ninkasi kegs between  >:D.

Seriously though, I think most people stay in camp Saturday night.  By the time you've finished fishing hard for a couple long days, then feast on fish tacos and get your prizes at the awards ceremony most of us have little energy left for packing up camp and driving several hours to get home.

  Skidplate,
If you're going to help drain the kegs--I'd definitely advise spending the night Saturday.

Besides that--after all the awards/prizes, etc. are handed out---all the shuckin-n-jiving that takes place is a big part of the fun.
My advice---kick back and enjoy the good times. You won't be sorry. ;D
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Sean seemed to be the guy in the know when i called. call back and ask for him.

I think a good majority of us will be lucky to find the right campsite late saturday night, let alone drive .. ;)
See ya on the water..

I'm getting excited! I'm guessing those Captain's bags might be worth the price of the entry fee. sweet. Better sign up soon if ya want one. Does Anthony Schuman have a doppelganger that's also entering?

Hey everyone.  If you haven't signed up yet and plan on going, I'd like to encourage you to sign up ASAP.  This will really help with a lot of the logistics we have going on.  Thanks!

We are getting our boats ready, making lists & checking them twice!

A test run at Depoe Bay yesterday produced some nice sized Cabbies.

Could it be a Cabazon that wins the ORC this year?

I guess we'll find out in 4 weeks.

Cheers!

Nice seeing you out there Jammer! It was indeed a Cabbie rich day!  (Although I cheated going out in a pb) I also predict the winning fish will be a Cabezon. Here is a 15 pounder!

See the first page of the thread. There is good fishing close to the launch, no more than .5-1 mile from the dock.

I have felt a lot of pressure to join in the festivities. I've been backed into a corner and I'm left with no choice but to fish my way out!

In other words...I just paid the entry fee  ;D

I'm excited now. I was thinking I wouldn't be able to do it this year but I decided that I just need to make it work. I'm getting stoked but I'm going to try my best to contain myself. I'm preparing my Outback acceptance speech  ;)

If the Sheriff's department is checking us at the camp, can we still expect to be checked at the launch Sat morning?

Thanks for all your work on this Jammer.
