Hi guys,

If I can make it there, can someone loan me a kayak for that day?

Thanks,

Sonny
Sonny, yes, absolutely. I've got a Tarpon 120 I can bring down for you. Let me know if you'd like to use it. I will probably be down there with boats Thursday through Saturday.

Thank you Noah.  Since I won't be there until Friday night, I'll need to buy a 1 day fishing license and invasive species on line.  Is there any other requirements beside these 2 to fish that day?

Just over 1 week until the ORC 13

As of now we have 64 signed up. I know of at least 20 additional NWKA members that I'm pretty sure are coming. If you guys know of any additional participants that are coming and they're not registered using PayPal, PLEASE GET ON 'EM! It really helps us plan for Dino's Killer Kalua Pig feast Friday evening and a few other things.

Gettin Stoked!

MSW, or ANY weather/ocean condition prediction is not accurate more than a day or 3 out at best.  We're looking at nearly two weeks out, so take that forecast with a grain of salt or 12.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but magicseaweed screwed me today. I took my brother in law on his first ocean kayak fishing trip today out of Depoe Bay. Forecast said 1.9 ft at 19 seconds average until afternoon. It was actually 4.5-5 ft at 6 seconds. If not worse. Plus the fog was so thick you could barely see a kayaker 40 feet away. It pushed us off the water after an abysmal hour and a half of fishing. Lame. Lame. Lame.
Hope the forecast is more accurate for ORC weekend.

MSW doesn't combine the multiple swells on their main page, its very confusing. Personally I don't trust MSW (or even look at it) whatsoever, NOAA/NWS forecasts are far far more reliable IME. Plus you can check the spot forecast.

MSW seems pretty good at surf forecasts.  Swell and wind less so.

Well it is a surfing website after all. Maybe MSW works for some folks here but speaking for myself I would rather check an easy to understand and pretty reliable forecast i.e. NOAA/NWS. Also you can compare spot and area forecasts. /Threadjack

I like to use MSW for surf and swell, but I rely more on NOAA Inshore forecast for weather. I also like to check the local coastal city forecast using NOAA.
