Damn....

Horrible, horrible news.  Ohbryant was a legend this weekend and mentioned quite a few times at Snow Creek 'this guy caught a huge halibut from f*ing canoe!'

Words can't really do justice to the feelings about losing one of our own and the family they leave behind so I won't try.  RIP Ohbryant, you'll be missed by both those who knew you and those who didn't.

This news hit home and hit hard. I have been talking with Bryan for months about trips and plans after connecting earlier this year. I even talked him out of running the Peninsula rivers for Steelhead in a SOT last March after the heavy spring rains when the water was running near class 3. He was out there to push the limits but stay within his skills. That made him a great fisherman, and a great father. I am sad that ultimately it was an unforeseen accident that ended his life when there was so much left undone. We had scheduled 3 days to do the coastal run from Hobuck down to La Push in late June together and I was looking forward to this trip and his company. My thoughts and prayers are with Mindy and his children.

Bryan's family put up a facebook memorial page for him.  Please "like" the page and leave a comment if you can.  I know Mindy will appreciate hearing from us because of how important NWKA and kayak fishing was to Bryan.

Bryan could catch anything that swam, but salmon really was his specialty.  I learned alot from him.

Haven't been on the site much but today was the day. I'm totally bummed out. Bryan and I hooked up several years ago for Butt's in his neck of the woods and fished several times together. He was a loving family man and a very generous friend who would give the shirt off his back. Saw him and his family at Cabelas about a month or two ago. He will be sorely missed. My thoughts and condolences are with his family. Bryan, RIP. :'(

I posted this in the other thread as well....

Some have asked for an address where they could send cards.  Here it is... 2415 west 10th street, Port Angeles, WA 98363

The memorial is 1pm, Friday May 24, at Independent Bible Church in Port Angeles.  The address for the church is... 116 E. Ahlvers Rd, Port Angeles, WA 98362

I will be there, all are welcome.  Thank you for the many kind words and donations for his family.

As was mentioned in the other thread, his family has setup a FB memorial page should you want to direct comments in a more direct fashion.

I had someone ask about the FB page and the giving info on that with the account number, etc. that is not our (NWKA) doing. It is some other friends. We will give Bryan's widow cash to use for taking care of the families needs.
