Great day at Merwin friday...9 kokes-mostly 13-14 inches.Tried last 2 hours to get # 10(limit),but no cigar. They were very committed today,,,not many drive-bys.Probably lost another half dozen due the usual kokanee antics.
Most action was on the DR side...45 ft,sling blade ,hootchie.Catching fish on flasher side also...1/2 oz wt,25-30 pulls.
Tuna oil soaked corn, tipping w/a small piece of Berkely red wiggler.
Great fighters,lots of aerials!

Very cool dberd. Looks like a good haul. How was the traffic up there yesterday? Monday was a full parking lot and a zoo west of Speelyai on the water.

I think we should get a couple guys who would like to go and all head out there. For those of you who have never fished kokes (especially at Merwin) it's freaking awesome. Plus the limit is now 10/person.
I went up Monday and had a blast and am planning on going again as soon as possible.

I wish..lets see...already got to fish3 times this week, gotta plant garden/veggies this weekend, work tues-fri,other family stuff,CRAP-maybe next fri or sat. If ya want to try it before then, its pretty easy..fish are being caught all over..my first 2 were caught first 15 min ,(6:45). Launch out of speelai bay,go halfway cross lake, head west ,start trolling. There is a cove on the nw side by the waterfalls that we were repeatedly circling that was doing well. Good luck if you guys go.

Hop, last year the kokes in yale were teeny...6-8",you could catch a limit, but not much fun.Might be different this year..havent heard. When ya got your 10 at merwin, Ithink you can go get another 6 at yale.the 3 $ permit is good daily for merwin, yale, and swift. Swift is producing nice trout early this year,I hear.
