I just got the green light and a stack of cash from the wife to buy a Hobie. Two things concern me Outback or Revo 13 and why is she being so nice???

Does next adventure sell components to rig for fishing?

My vote would be to go for the Outback. I would demo both if I were you. It's like buying shoes...make sure you get a good fit.
Next Adventure has lots of gear for rigging your boat. I bought some Gear Tracs last time I was up that way. Fair prices and helpful staff!
Congrats on your new Hobie!

Demo Demo Demo!!!!!  ;D  That way you won't have to ever second guess your decision.
The outback has a little more room for geartracs and the like but either can be loaded with goodies with a little finagling.

Good luck!!

Lol,  That's not a bad guess. I've already checked my truck for dents and scratches... Hmmm. I guess I better add ear plugs and beer to the shopping list .

I think the revo is the single most underated hobie kayak. Almost as fast as the Addy almost as stable as the Outback and can still be paddled if your drive breaks.

Demo, demo, demo. Though, for me, I decided on the Revo, Revo, Revo. Sweet ride and hauls bass! Thought I'd need something to cut through the Columbia River on slightly windy days...

Where and what would you like to fish for?

I fish for anything with fins, from lakes to ocean and want to do the same from a kayak. But I figure I can always buy the other one for the "wife" ;) if I'm not satisfied

We have one of each.  They are both awesome.  I always use the Outback, my wife takes the Revo 13.  The Revo is a little faster and easier to paddle.  The Outback is a bit more stable and forgiving.  I'm talking about marginal differences.  If forced to lose one at gunpoint (don't even think about it) I'd probably keep the Outback. It's got two more rod holders.

I vote for the Revo13.  And I voted for one with my wallet a few years back.  The stability of the Revo is WAY under-rated.  You want something more stable than a Revo?  Get a boat :)

Curious? How does the revolution stability compare to the trident 13?

Umm, or get an outback.

Pretty similar.

Both are nice boats. I'd say if you value stability and storage a bit more than speed get the Outback. If you want to be able to cover some ground as quickly as possible get the Revo. For Sturgeon fishing I'd like to have the additional storage of the outback. For pulling crab pots I'd like to have the increased lateral stability of the outback. For covering ground in the salt or fighting a strong current in the Ocean I LOVE my Revo. I'd still go Revo if I had to make the choice over again because it's the boat that fits my needs the best. If you're a bigger dude you may also lean toward the outback, as it has an bigger weight capacity over the revo. If you're new to kayaking you may also feel more comfortable in the outback because it has a more lateral stability than the Revo.  I wouldn't say the Revo is tippy but it does feel like a kayak.
