To keep from polluting the "official ORC thread" let's start up one for conditions/tides/weather.

Share all the links you feel will apply....... ::) ::) ::)

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

If the winds are looking like they are currently predicted by MSW (probably about a 10% chance of that forecast holding this far out) I'll be cancelling one or both pre-fishing days, and save a little more vacation time.  Sure hope it isn't that bad next week.

Your looking at the bar condition for today, has no bearing on tourny day....

http://magicseaweed.com/Otter-Rock-Surf-Report/317/

Even though it is way too early to predict either way, it looks like the swell is on a downward trend from thursday on. Even though the wind is forecast to be high, there is usually a few hour window(very early) to get out before it blows hard. make sure you crack of dawn it... Get out, hang a big fish, get in, start drinking..

and if your concerned, stay as close in as you can to make a dash for the slot if it does start to blow.

Now for pre-fishing, It looks like it might pu a damper on that...
See ya on the water..

I agree with you Roy---get out while the window is open, catch a huge fish, then get in and sweat it out that no one tops your giant. All while enjoying a cold libation. Let's hope that plan comes to fruit.

I know it's still early but pre fishing Friday looks to be a go...I penciled in for Friday off on the work calendar, I think I'll go ahead and trace over it in permanent ink! I'll be arriving Thursday evening for sure!

The weather will be fine.  There is a closed low that may set in on the 12-13th and our local tunaheads are talking about making a trip to Charleston.  Basically it looks like flatwater with maybe some wind in the afternoon.

here are the current Stormsurf forecast at 6:00am Saturday for the surf(pic 1) and the wind(pic 2)
