Do you have to have a wet suit or dry suit to participate?

This is a "longest fish" tourney so gutting / bleeding shouldn't effect the outcome.  At least I wouldn't think so.

If you cut the piece of skin connecting the front of the collar with the rear of the jaw the head of the salmon will be able to pivot on the spine and swing up away from the belly. This will result in a longer overall fish.

Exactly.  We don't allow it for AOTY pictures because it can make the fish longer.  However, if you just cut open the belly and pull the guts out, it doesn't add length and will help preserve delicate pink salmon meat, sohopefully we can gut them prior to returning to the check in station.

Gutting should be allowed but the fish must be left gill in or princess dressed.

Dino, can we get an official ruling?

Why you guys got to make this so complicated?  Bring the fish in whole.  Whole on ice for a few hours will be just fine from a meat quality perspective.  Really.

Can fish be gutted prior to weigh measure in?  Pinks aren't known for their keeping quality unless you bleed, gut, and put on ice right out of the water.

My opinion is to allow fish to gutted but they must either be princess dressed or left gill in for an accurate measurement.

And why is Bill talking about dressing like a princess again?   >:D

I've never understood why it's called a 'princess cut'. Is it because cutting the gills out in that manner keeps the fish looking fresh and pretty? That is the only thing I can come up with.

Because trollers like to be special and different. Removing the gills without cutting that little piece of skin and not spitting the belly all the way keeps the fish in the best condition when handled.

Waders with a Belt and a paddling jacket/Splashtop will be sufficient.

Pinks do fine with just a bleed and ice. Cut a few gill arches.

How about Alki Boat Launch Park (Don Armeni Boat Ramp) just north of Seacrest?  $10 fee for 24 hour parking only a mile from Jack Block.

I'd like to make it but I don't know if I will be able to, things are getting real busy in the lab.
