After having the 1/2" hook requirement discussion in another thread, I decided to e-mail WDFW and this was their response. Looks like all hooks have to be 1/2" from tip to shank trolling, casting or otherwise. Gear up appropriately.

-----------------------Start-----------------------
Hopefully I can answer your question regarding the hook rules within the waters in Elliot Bay during August.  The rules state that only one hook with a size measuring ½ inches or less from point to shank, are barbless, and no bait may be used.  Thus, it is not permitted to fish any method, including trolling, with hooks larger than ½ inches; in addition only one hook may be used.  Starting September 1, regulations within Elliot Bay follow those of Marine Area 10 and hook size is not regulated.  Hope this clears things up.  Feel free to call or email me if you have more questions.

So I have a question in regards to regs. The statement says daily limit 2 combined, plus 2 additional pinks.

So I assume you can get 2 silvers, and 2 pinks or 4 pinks. I was on the river 2 years ago and was stopped by fish and game, I had 1 silver and 2 pinks. He asked me why I didnt bring out another fish, I told him I only caught one silver. He said it's 2 additional pinks with a 4 adult total. So I could keep 4 pinks.

Does this sound right.
Could you keep 4 pinks in area 10-8?

Yes Dirk, that's How it works.  4 pinks, 3 pinks and a Coho, or 2 pinks and 2 Coho.

what's the chance of catching another type of salmon while fishing for pinks during this?  Also, how big are these pinks (on average).

Just a heads up... I was at Golden Gardens in Seattle yesterday and I saw about 15 pinks jumping on the surface about 75 yards from the beach. Tight lines guys.
