Guys thanks for putting on such an awesome tourney. It was awesome learning a new fishery and catching fish until my arms were sore. I already can't wait until next year.

I would also like to add my thanks. What a great day of fishing (although it's obvious I should have made the trek to Hoodsport ).  The coho will be on the smoker soon.  Hopefully this will happen again next year.  Thanks again, Wayne

Thanks to everyone that made this possible!! Another great SlayRide Scott!! What a great time with some seriously competitive fishing! I think we all caught fish until our forearms hurt, and then some! Great to meet/fish with a bunch of new faces, and hang out with familiar ones as well!

Sweet pic Ralph!! Chum are WAY more attractive in that format!

Thanks for the action shot Todd!!

Congratulations to ravdakot who took home the Old Town Predator and first place at this year's SlayRide derby with a 34 inch Chum.  Here are the top 10 finishers.

1. ravdakot               34
2. NWNoob                33 3/16
3. Yaktrap                 33 1/16
4. Lee                       31 9/16
5. WindandEmotion    31 1/2
6. mountains2sound   31
7. DHD                      30 3/16
8. The shoeman         30 1/8
9. Amishfishing          29 9/16
10. Islandspam          29 1/4

Thanks to everyone that was able to make it out for the derby on Sunday. Only a couple of us held down the fort at Oakland Bay, the rest headed up to Hoodsport.  Toothy Dog Salmon action was Had by all up there.  Tired arms and worn out reel drag makes for a successful derby for everyone involved.  We also raised another $1000 dollars for HOW-NW, so thanks again to all who took part.

Lets see some more zombie fish action shots.

Thanks to everyone that made this one happen. All those fish stacked up like that is a sight to be seen. Definitely one you want to put on your calendar for next year! Great job.

Not a great zombie fish pic, but, i think, it was the first place fish of the Oakland Bay region ;) (still kickin' myself for not going to Hoodsport).  Speaking of whick, my son and i are heading out to hoodsport this Sunday to target chum. A pm on parking/launch location and successful gear would be welcomed.  Maybe see some of you out there . Wayne (laughing steelhead)

Wayne, just park across the street from the hatchery.  There is a stairwell to the water across from the wdfw parking area (you'll see a long dock) then paddle north to the hatchery and chunk jigs at the schools.  You'll get lots of foul hooks, but you'll get mouth hooks too.

The parking area directly across from the pier is the WDFW lot. There are a couple spots on the side of the rd at the pier too. +1 on the jigs. A slow retrieve will result in less foul hooks, but you're gonna get a bunch.

Was there just a ton of fish piled into a small area? It sounds like I really missed out. Did anyone happen to capture this blood bath on camera?
