FWIW -- Twelve folks on a remote trip sounds too much like Boy Scout Camp. Not that there's anything wrong with it, just not my preference in wild places. I'd happily pay more rather than double the density.

:sleepy1: Yaw!  With all of this warm weather, I woke from my winter slumber and thought I might see what my NWKA brethren are up to.

Count my in for some July camping/fishing in PWS!  With this nice early notice, I have enough time to plan around the dates and hoard leave.  Looking forward to contributing and kayak fishing this year!

My thoughts as well.   I doubt we'll have a full house.  If so, there is the option of splitting up and renting the shelter bay cabin and the double bay cabin.  Double bay is about 7 air miles away on the other side of the island
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

Has there been any progress on identifying a water taxi?  I have another group that I'm looking into the logistics for this trip for.

There aren't too many options out of Valdez.   The only one I have found so far is the same company that you mentioned.   Still looking though.  I'll send you any more information I find

Its pricey but ferry from Whittier to Cordova.  then Charter this....  http://www.auklet.com/form.htm

$1,800 a day for up to 6 people I think.

You'd think there has to be some cheaper options...

How is that pricey?  Seem a lot cheaper than options from Valdez.  I'm expecting it to be in the $600 per person range, if not more.

Yeah, that would be Kimberlins ... http://www.kimberlinswatertaxi.com .

The place we've used in the past was Pacific Mountain Guides ... http://www.pacificmountainguides.com .  We essentially payed the price of a 6-pac halibut charter for 2 days (dropoff and pickup).  They don't do halibut charters anymore and focus more on silver salmon, multi-day salmon shark, and hunting trips.  July may be slow for them, so maybe some room to deal.

The other one I've seen is Pangaea ... http://www.alaskasummer.com/pages/watertaxi-princewilliamsound-valdez.html

I'm going to reach out these services in the next few days.  Will share what I learn.

Lol.  It's not.  But when you talk to folks like me who access 99% of our fishing for free...ITS PRICEY!!!! I think on this boat you get the bunks too so that makes it even cheaper.

BTW, Kimberlain's still has those P13's we used on the salmon shark expedition.  So anyone that wants to come up from the lower 48 for this trip, you have options!

Kimberlan's prices don't sound too bad at all.  That's $500 per person round trip if we are full?  BTW: What is our count up to now?  Are we over 6 yet?

Montague Island!!!!!  Let's go big!!!!  It also gives a busy body like me to possibly fly in via float plane if I can't take a week or whatever one should to explore!

You will run into possession limits way before you run out of capacity to hold fish unless you luck into multiple 100 pound halibut.

I hate to tell the folks outside of Alaska, but all that "fresh" halibut and rockfish you are eating if it's from Alaska...probably a week to 2 weeks old. Fresh means "not frozen". In the old derby days, halibut would be held for as long as thirty days on ice.  For most average folks, they can't even tell the difference.

Yeah Lets go to Montague. Last time I was there it was non stop Ling cod/halibut/silvers. Lots of nice fish. We need the San Juan bay cabin.
Second pick is Kodiak if someone wants to plan that.
