Any one up for American Lake this weekend?  Just finished up 3 weeks in the field, started having reoccurring kayak fishing dreams.... gotta scratch the itch to fish.

It's a pretty safe bet I'll be out there unless there's some sort of natural disaster...probably hit it Sat AM for a couple hours and again on Sunday for a bit longer. I always launch from Russell's Landing

Rock on.  I wont be super early out there, the old lady said she wanted to work on her quilts all weekend though, so that was kind of a, "get out of the house and dont bother me."  my wife is awesome!

I will be doing a Wavewalk demo/sale and was thinking I might just have the guy meet me at the ramp at American and then fish! Depending on his timing I may be out there.  I also just got a downrigger that I am hoping to have installed to give it a go.  I look forward to finally getting to meet some fellow kayak anglers.

I am no longer a dealer for Wavewalk but if you ever want to paddle one let me know!

I looked at WDFG map of American Lake and could not find Russel's Landing. Any help ???
Is that near Harry Todd Park ??..
Just looking at the map--my guess---is there more structure on the south end of the lake ?
Have never fished it but would like to give it a shot.
Can someone post a map with preferred areas ? please...

This is the WDFW lauch site.  Map says Military, but it's not.  It's just right on the fence line for camp Murray.
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=47.122125,-122.568161&num=1&t=h&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=47.121936,-122.567983&spn=0.002705,0.006539&z=14&source=embed

That looks like a good starting area....close to the creek, structure around the islands, maybe a little protection if the wind kicks up.
It will be a 90 mile trip for some trout  ??? ::) but I have been wanting to fish this lake for a while.....and there is no time like the present. ;D
    Hope to make it out.
