Any up-date on Ferry schedule for this trip ?

Would really like to make this happen.

Never made it to Kodiak Island........damhik.

The idea of 50+ pound kings is very intriguing.

   Please post any new info....

  Thanks guys.......

With several friends in Kodiak and surrounding villages, I will gather all the intel available as this gets closer. i'm definitely going, and I should be able to transport several kayaks with my truck.

And then there were two.....

A 40 plus pound feeder king would be a bucket item list.  My major concern on this trip is how the heck am I going to let a chromer 25 to 30 pounders go (which are twice as large the feeder kings we catch in Homer) to try for the bucket list 40 or 50 plus pounder!!!  I fully intend to at least land a fish that size on the Kenai River but once again the feeder aspect of the fish puts this in a completely different category for me than just fishing "kings".

I'm going with the idea to land ONE king over the multiple days but even then it's worth it for me.  Try to get intel on the early season halibut as well.

I am still thinking about a Kodiak trip especially if I can coordinate with my wife's business trips. (free lodging) I would mind taking the ferry with a couple of boats in the back.

Kinda? Just kinda? lol.

Well with AKRod that's four.  It'll give me something to do over the winter.  I wonder where the halibut will be early?  This could be epic!

What is the possession limit for Kings on Kodiak ? Same as South Central ? 5 per year ?
Didn't find it on ADFG website............

Same for halibut limits......2 per day ? no size restrictions ?

   Maybe ??????
Was thinking about your comment on letting a 25-30 lb'er go to up-grade. Couldn't/didn't find that answer @ ADFG .
So you could keep a 30 lbs feeder and still have a chance at a "big boy". And those pictures on the original post are definitely INSPIRING.

   I want another salmon over 60  ;D ;D ;D

Or you take a proxy and keep the first three 30 pounders and finish with s 60 for a 150 pound limit. lol. Can't use proxies on halibut though. Bummer.

Any idea on the dates?  No hunting season to interfere with this one.

Why May?  Seems like that is the very beginning of the season, from what little internet research I've done.  May, June, July is "the window" for kings, although they are available year long.  When does the weather start getting better up there?
