I've been doing my best and will continue to.  If you need me to do something in particular please let me know and I'll let you know if I can accommodate.

Thanks FS.  Appreciate it.  I'm not looking for guys give up their lives for this, just whatever one is willing to do.  I'll create a private forum for those that volunteer and we can make decisions easier/faster with a smaller group.  We can also dole out any tasks there.

Two weeks since a post here and no final plans.

What are folks thinking?  Will this event one month away happen?  Looks like we have 11 so far.

It'll happen.  Just a bit distracted doing the final stuff for the Moutcha Derby.

Hmm better make that 10...  Unfortunately I do not think I will make this event =(  Just don't have the gear (wetsuit, saltwater pole, ect), have yet to do any surf launches (mastered my self rescues last weekend though... under a minute w00t!), yet to reserve a campsite...

*sighs* I had been looking forward to finally fishing out of the ocean all this summer, unfortunately got sidetracked with moving and work and life...

good news, I found the old wetsuit I was looking for earlier. It's your classic NRS farmer john, size L, along with a semidrytop, size XL, you're welcome to borrow that weekend if it helps it you getting out there.

What size are you?  I've got an extra wetsuit that will fit someone up to 6' and up to 190lbs.

You don't need anything too special for jigging bottom fish.  You can find a decent combo for around $60 or pick one up for next to nothing at a G-Sale or Pawn shop.

Hi Rich,

I'm going to guess we'll launch directly in front of the Pelican Brewery.  There are two campgrounds directly across the street and that's where most everyone has said they'll be camping.  One or two folks are staying indoors in the area.  That's about all I know.

My buddy "Chris the Fish" and I are planning to stay at Webb County Park.

OK ... I'm getting to work on this now.  I know it's a bit late, but we're a bit casual around here (in case you haven't figured that out yet).  Please respond to the poll that I put up on this thread (scroll to the top) so I can get some idea of how many people are going.  I hope to have an info page and signups up this weekend.

I think I'm going to open up launching to anywhere in the region, as long as you can make it to the weigh-in on time.  Will open it up to all species and have single largest fish weighed in as the winner.  This will add a little spice to the gameplan aspects of things ... do I go out with the crowd and win with a monster ling or do I chance the tidewaters somewhere near and swing for a homerun salmon?

Allen, do you want the number of people camping or fishing in the derby?  For example, my wife Amy and our son Owen will probably be camping with me, but not entering the derby, so is that one or three?

One of my boys might want to sign-up if we're fishing tidewater but since I'm the only for-sure fisher, I'm voteing 1.

High tides don't look the greatest if you're expecting a morning incoming tide to fish salmon in the tidewater, unless we push the weighin to 6PM.  An ambitious person might get a morning bite in the salt, then truck it to an afternoon bite on a river.  What rivers are around Pac City?
