How many guys on here paddle a Jackson kayak? It's ok to speak up nobody knows where you live! You might get some hate mail but hey chime in anyway. Just curios as to how many there are in this forum.

I usually take my Big Tuna out w/ my kids or my wife. Brought the boat with me to Idaho this week to do some fishing with a buddy (we haven't had much luck as of yet). I like the BT, just need to get a rudder for it. If I'm going solo, I usually take my Hobie.

Define "area"...   :)

I have a just-wet-once Big Tuna in forest camo minus the sand color I call Dark Tuna.  Am closer to Seattle than Oregon.  The rudder is very nice in the wind!

2015 Jackson Big Tuna (tandem) (dark forest)
2016 Hobie Outback LE (screamin' orange)

2015 Jackson Kraken 13.5 (bluefin)

I have a Cuda 14.  Haven't been on it since the Revo was delivered though.

I had a Coosa...

I used it quite a bit and caught my fair share of bass out of it, but I replaced it with a Trident 11. I liked the Coosa's sexy looks, comfy seat, rigid bow and stern handles, and lockable hatches, but the Trident is a bit "moar bettah" in the performance department. (faster, more stable, Rod Pod, less windage, leaks less, lighter, better balanced, much easier to car top - downside is a wetter butt)

But like Dog/duck, I take the Revo out more often.

Jackson's new thermoformed Cuda is something I'd like to look at though.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

I have a JK Coosa and I'm happy with it. They warranted the seat support breaking, so I bought a Cuda 12. I liked the Coosa more so I sold the Cuda and kept the broken Coosa. I'm looking for another Coosa but don't want to buy a new one. Throughout the year I'm on the salt about 50-60 days so it gets a workout.

I like my little Jackson Cruise 10. It's my pocket kayak at 10' and 53 lbs, perfect for mini-lakes. Took it out today for the first bassin' trip of spring and did alright.

Well I just put a Deposit down and ordered a Kraken. I went back and forth between the Jackson vs Hobie, Paddle vs Peddle. For my 1st Kayak I went with the Paddle. Great value, set up to fish right out of the box, (needs electronics only) and a beast on the water. My Plan is to fish and paddle around sometimes NOT fishing. I figure once I have this boat for a while, I can get the GF a Hobie and borrow that on the off chance she doesn't want to fish ;-) . I will update you on the maiden voyage once it gets here.

Rick, It was good to meet you on Saturday. I heard you got the Kraken from Kayak Academy folks. At some point this summer we'll fish together and I'd like to try it out. And good plan to get the Jackson and a Hobie, I've got the same combo in my fleet. Life's too short to own just one type of fishing kayak.

This thread should probably get moved to "The Kayak Shack."
