Depending on the weather I'm heading south after work on Thursday night(4pm) to break in the new Propel and try my luck at Whiskey Gulch.  I'm going to try and get the farthest site to the left, I'll have a Gold Tahoe with 2 orange kayaks.  Let me know if anyone wants to come and I can save another campsite if needed.  Its looking like it might rain but that doesn't bother me so I'll probably be there no matter what, going to bring a massive tarp to hang up.  PM me for my number if you want more info....hopefully will see some guys out there. :spittake:

Sweet.  I am completely free for the nest four weekends barring work issues which I don't have currently planned.  Given the awesome fishing being reported, I may head out and try new things.  They include trying it with either a fly rod or ultralight for kings.  Maybe get some good underwater video footage.  Its too good of an opportunity with the area being so fishy thanks to the bait around.

I'll let ya know as the week progresses.

Sounds like a plan, I'm going to try an umbrella rig for kings....figured why not???  My GF will be coming but she doesn't have a dry suit yet so I have to get that figured out as well.

Ya beat me to it.  I was going to hang it off the down rigger ball. I was going to fish the gear independently.  Right now, sounds like ya  just got to be on the water!

Have you thought about catching live herring on a sabiki and live lining a herring off a bobber?  Is that even legal hahaha

It is legal.  I carry sabkiks but never have really tried it here.  I do plan on maybe trying my hand at catching pinks for live bait.  I need to check where that is legal.  I know it is in PWS.  Greenling make good bait for halibut and lingcod and it legal.

I hope the fishing holds out until I get down there.  I'd love to bonk my first king.

When is that gonna be?

It saddens me, but not until day of the tourney.  I'll be hiding in plain sight....you'll notice me when you see the big @$$ halibut dragging ashore next to my kayak.
