One pole is the rule unless your fishing with Allen. Then you'd have pole pole.

:sad1: sorry  :icon_jokercolor:

Hey its the ass hat! I got to get some mileage out of it.:tongue3:

We usually fished for tuna in California with four rods; two off the stern and two outriggers. Trolling two rods from the kayak in the ocean is standard procedure.

A proposed 'second rod stamp' for Oregon lakes and reserviors has passed.  Unfortunately so did a few price increases to the fishing licenses.

Anyway, it looks like starting in 2010 for an extra $15 you can fish with two rods in Oregon lakes and reservoirs.  Douple your offerings.. double your fun.

Here's the related statute as amended...

ORS 497.121 (1) (j) - Two rod angling license valid in lakes and reservoirs for anglers who also hold a valid annual angling license, $15.

Cool.  Although one pole is generally enough to keep my attention - and tha is just lakes and resevoirs, not rivers, tributaries, or the nearshore ocean?

I dunno, I think I could do some real damage with two poles on a lake...

Two different rigs and fishing two depths... oh ya

Double the AOTY headache. We're gonna have to overhaul the rules next year.

I'm not sure how this would affect AOTY unless they also change the seasons or retention criteria.

You fish in OR w/ two rods and have twice the chance to hookup. Can only use one rod in WA. We also really need to remedy the WA/OR largemouth bass rule..

I guess one would need to report that the fish was caught with 2 poles in the water since the 2 pole tag would be optional. I have enough trouble handling one rod at a time... :-\

I have no problems coming down there to fish and do it already. But this isn't just a geographical difference it's a difference in regulation. OR residents can fish this way every time they fish so they have double the chance to hook into something. It's like saying a certain baseball team gets three strikes while the other team gets six. The regulations need to be even so that the playing field is level.

I guess one would need to report that the fish was caught with 2 poles in the water since the 2 pole tag would be optional.
I don't see how reporting would help even the playing field.

Hmm well for even playing field, it's kinda crazy how the noobs like myself are trying to go against sponsored pros... It's not like we try and even out the handicaps with net and gross scores or anything...

*shrugs* Maybe i've been listening to my golfing coworkers too long haha...
